Support Overview

When you give to NVLP, you help us preserve the oral histories of African American elders who have impacted human rights and shaped American history. You also help NVLP create academic and leadership programming for the young vibrant leaders of the future using this invaluable information.

Your contributions can help:

  • Ensure the in-depth videotaped autobiographical experiences of African American elders is permanently preserved in the Library of Congress.
  • Expand the number of college students trained in collecting oral histories and video programming through the Visionary Heritage Fellows Program.
  • Create educational programs using the in-depth historical information from the interviews in the NVLP video archive.
  • Fund outreach to public high schools to engage students, faculty and the community in recording the evolution and legacy of local leaders, such as the Dunbar High School Oral History Project.
  • Enable more students to attend the Intergenerational Summit on the State of Black America and community-based Roundtables on contemporary topics affecting current and future lives.
  • Share our Visionaries' distinctive videotaped insights with new audiences; via cable and broadcast TV, on digital media and worldwide on the NVLP website.

We thank you for continuing to build this enduring educational institution with your tax deductible gift to the National Visionary Leadership Project -- Creating Tomorrow's Leaders Today.
